Dreadful weekend

It was a bloody (literally!) weekend. I had to take part in the customary offering ceremony to god over the weekend in some remote village. Though the believes of god and idol worship is still under debate, the bloody offering being made on this belief is still far-fetched and indigestable to me. To those illiterate souls, I could not some how explain and convince that their belief is wrong. At the least they didn't force me to stay along and visualize the horrible killings.

This event went contemporary with my reading of Da-Vinci code making me to think whether there could be some secret documents which could reveal a totally different meaning to the offerings given to GOD. If those docs exists also, will these people be open to change?

Is God a veggie or non-veggie?.

Continuous Learning

This is the topic for today. As many reputed scholars said, learning should be continuously happening throughout the life. Many of us think that we need not learn any further once we are out of school. It is not true. Learning happens everyday. Something new should be learnt everyday to enhance yourself to the fastly changing world. Learning is not just the one that you do when you read a book. Just do not stop at technical level also, even the normal chores that you do daily could help you to learn something new.

What did I learn today?

antediluvian means very old or out of date. I came across this word when i was reading the bestseller Da Vinci Code novel by Dan Brown.
petite - small, little or danity. I came across this word in some online article in CNET.

Through Da Vinci code novel, I learnt some history about the Jesus Christ and Leanardo Da Vinci and his secret society. The facts published by the novel seems to make a lot of sense and plausible. It seems a lot logical.

Awake from dormancy

After 6-7 months of dormancy I am back to blogging. Nothing serious or interesting happened that had kept me away from blogging. Let me see how much I can keep up this spirit now.

Today, I started the day by going through a couple of good blogs, which inspired me (although instantly and suddenly) to look back and start again.

A painting a day - http://duanekeiser.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_duanekeiser_archive.html

And another one

http://99zeros.blogspot.com/

This blog has ended up in a controversy as the authour had criticised his employer. It has come under the radar and has raised issues pertaining to privacy, blogging rules/guidelines.

So there are lessons that can be learnt from other mistakes. Anyways this blog is a personal one and will not host anything official.

I see lot of advantages that a blogger could get from blogging... apart from getting his personal perspective out to the world.
For those who doesn't have the habit of writing a diary, it could serve as an e-diary.
For those whose mother-tongue is non-English, could learn to write in better english.
You can increase your vocab power, learning the usage of words and really test your skills by putting them to use at your own site.
More than that it is fun.
For ppl who are worried about waste of time, it takes less than 5 mins. (for this one I took some 10 mins)
So go blogging.
